Colorado Mountain Club
The CMC is the oldest outdoor education, recreation, and conservation organization in Colorado. Founded in 1912, CMC programs revolve around education, conservation, science, history, policy, recreation, arts and culture. The CMC offers a wide range of opportunities for the public to explore, observe, and learn about the Southern Rockies, while simultaneously leading efforts to protect the species, habitats, and wildness of our public lands.

 

The American Alpine Club (AAC)

The American Alpine Club unites and inspires the climbing community to advance the climbing way of life, with a focus on knowledge, conservation, advocacy and logistical support. The AAC publishes the definitive annual record of the world’s most ambitious climbs, the American Alpine Journal, and operates the Western Hemisphere’s largest mountaineering library.  The Alpine Conservation Partnership builds on a long line of landmark conservation and advocacy efforts, dating back 100 years to when John Muir presided over the club. The AAC runs the Grand Teton Climbers’ Ranch, provides global rescue services, stages events, and offers more grants to fund climbing expeditions than any other US organization.

The Colorado Mountain School has been guiding continuously in Colorado since 1877, and has been Rocky Mountain National Park’s exclusive technical climbing concessionaire since the Park’s creation in 1915.CMS offers mountain climbing, rock climbing, avalanche training, expeditions, backcountry skiing, ice climbing, indoor climbing and personal training, and the finest climbing courses, climbing camps, skiing and climbing guides and instructors.
